I feel sorry for the younger generations who will be immersed in the sanitized world of the Metaverse. The real world is messy; it is physical, painful, and raw.
I received two texts from Firefly's mother today. Firefly overdosed, and she is in a coma of sorts. She has been sleeping since Sunday at 5:30 a.m. I am not a religious man, but I hope she wakes.
That's a shame, though should not have been unexpected.

This is true. I wish I could help her. I don't think it is possible.
DeleteI don't think it is. I have a friend of mine who is an alcoholic - she's killing herself, destroying her family etc. It's so sad. However, you can't help her - she won't have it. She has to want to help herself but it's so hard to sit and watch her destroy herself and not be able to do a damn thing.

DeleteI am so sorry about Firefly, I Pray she wakes and has a full Recovery. I Wish I could say a close call can change the situation, but it doesn't always. My Heart aches for her Family, addicted Loved Ones is hard and a tough row to hoe, I've had Loved Ones overdose, it's terrifying.
ReplyDeleteShe has had several close calls. It has not made her think or slow down for very long. I am not sure she can.
DeleteI think that is a good way to put it. She is very lost. I don't think she realizes she is her own worst enemy.
