Day One Part II- Mousetrap

While pacing downstairs, waiting for my meal to cook, I spotted the mouse on Tuesday night. It scurried around the corner from the living room into the kitchen. I wasn't sure I had seen it at first. I camped out in the kitchen, and it reappeared from under the dishwasher. I called Sienna. The cat was sleeping on the couch. Sienna finally saw the mouse but failed to catch it. She had a second chance a half hour later and failed again.

I found an old trap in the garage and baited it. I used chocolate pudding left over from my first road trip with Ava. Ideally, I like using peanut butter, but I don't eat the stuff, so I don't have any around. I placed the trap in the small gap between the refrigerator and the wall, fat enough back that Sienna would not trip it.

I checked the trap later in the evening, and the bait was gone. Now I know the mousetrap is in a good spot. I rebaited it with a piece of a chocolate cookie. I smashed it into the center. The trap is old. It might have lost its sensitivity. I will need to ask Max to pick up some more and some peanut butter.

Kat

Kat came over for the first time last night. She dressed casually in jeans, a cropped lavender hoodie, and a black bralette. I am still trying to pull Kat out of her shell. Kat seems used to very transactional arrangements. I am looking for something more for her. We will see if that develops.

Kat arrived a bit after 6:30. She wasn't hungry, so we didn't get any food. After a condo tour, we sat at the kitchen table and talked for a while. Kat lives alone. In a studio apartment in the city. Kat is thinking about getting a roommate and moving into a bigger place come March when her lease is up.

She does some type of teaching within the Detroit public schools. Her family lives near me but moved here recently. Kat only spent a summer living in New Baltimore. When I asked her what she did last Friday, she told me she went to see a techno band, then went to an after-hours bar with her friends.

We headed upstairs, where we continued to talk clothed above the sheets. I started commenting on a few of Kat's tattoos. She has several springled over her body. This broke the ice and proceeded to us removing clothes.

Sex with Kat was-- okay. Definitely not on the level of Ava or the Gymnast. Kat is a tall girl and not thin for her height. She is more challenging to throw around than Ava. Still, she has a decent body. Though, after being with Kat, I have a new appreciation of the effort Ava puts into herself before hopping into bed.

Kat may have too much of the young college-educated pink hair feminist in her for my tastes. The jury is still out on that one.

On the plus side, Sienna got along with her. I don't know what that says about Ava. Ava is the only one that the cat doesn't like. I think it is because Ava is afraid of her.

Canned Reply

I've noticed lately that everywhere I communicate, I'm offered canned responses to use--emails, text messages, and even Teams. Pretty soon, there will be no need for me to reply or even be on the other end of the conversation. It will just be bots talking back and forth, and they will keep on talking long after I am gone. It feels like another example of taking the human out of the equation.

My emails have little sub-headers like this:

Start your reply with:  Great, thank you so much! Great, thanks for the update. Perfect, thank you!

I am going to start keeping an eye out for people using them. It's the kind of canned response I would get from Billie if I sent her that letter...I've decided I will not.

Sienna, my cat, has become an ankle biter. Whenever I am pacing around the house, which is usually when I refill my tea, she nips at my heels for attention. She likes me being home, and I haven't been home much lately.

Temperatures are rising slowly here. Ava and I missed a lovely weekend of weather here in Michigan last week, but we had better weather in Kentucky. This weekend we may hit 70 degrees before things start going lower again.

Leave your canned message in the comments, and have a great weekend.

Pesto Pizza

Thursday, Ava came to the condo. She was running an hour late. That seems to be part of her persona, always running somewhere, always behind, but she devotes her attention to who she is with when she gets here. We went to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients to make individual pesto pizzas. Her's was vegan; mine was not so much. We also made spiced pumpkin balls for dessert.

It was fun cooking with her. She is slowly becoming comfortable here. Although Sienna (my cat) has not warmed up to her yet, she comes out while Ava is around, which is a step in the right direction.

We sat on the couch and watched videos while we ate. After, we stretched out together and got comfortable. I was lying behind Ava, gently running my fingers along the soft skin of her stomach. When my hand roamed upward, I discovered she was not wearing a bra beneath her heavy turquoise top. This is not something I would expect of her.

"You're not wearing a bra," I noted, pleased by the fact.

"I thought you might appreciate that."

"Oh, I do," I said while cupping her right breast in my hand and rolling the nipple between my fingers.

"I would never go out in public without a bra," she states.

Apparently, the grocery store doesn't count, but I didn't mention it. "You should. You have perfect breasts."

Ava does. They are a nice handful but firm. They do not need a bra.

"Thank you."

Ava turns toward me, so I have more access, and we kiss. It doesn't take long for her to get excited from my caresses. Ava starts rubbing her body against mine as my hand drifts into her pants. Before we get carried away, we move to the bedroom.

Once again, the sex is excellent. We continue to learn each other's likes and are comfortable just being present with each other. Ava's favorite position is face down with her ass propped up. She uses the wand vibrator on her clitoris while I enter her from behind. It is a beautiful sight and hard to resist. I am getting aroused just thinking about it as I write this.

As things wind down, we talk. Ava describes me as a ninja. You can tell I am in shape in clothes, but I am in stealth mode. Apparently, my attributes come out in the bedroom. Hey, a trophy is a trophy.

I really like this girl. She is not just all take. I am not used to this; she is not full of herself. If anything, she doesn't give herself enough credit. But, there is always a catch. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement; even though she does not stress the fact, I haven't forgotten that. Still, each encounter seems to top the last, and I look forward to each new date while wondering where this will go, if anywhere.

Psychic Again

Sienna, my cat, has taken to sleeping on my side of the bed in front of my pillow during the day now that Firefly has gone.  I think it is because the house is cold. The temperature outside has been in the low 20's during the day and into the single digits at night.

I had another psychic reading today. As usual, she was spot on. She spoke a lot about Firefly. She did not see Firefly going away.  She said the following about Firefly:

I pick up a lot of karma. I want to say it was meant to be--the two of you meeting. I do see the two of you getting back.  I see her moving back in.  If you try reaching out to her, there will be times when she will talk to you, then there will be other times when she will ignore you--because she can be very stubborn. It takes her a while to cool off.  For example, I said I see her moving back in, and I said not anytime soon. If she were in front of me, she would say, NO WAY.  She would think I am crazy.

She had the following to say about Billie:

Your love for Billie is extremely deep.  You are always going to have feelings for Billie.  I see you and Billie inconsistently communicating with each other. It is going to be very generic.  I see you seeing each other, but I want to say I see Billie having her guard up. She will be somewhat protective of her heart. Billie still has feelings for you, and I see that she always will.  It is just that she would like to be friends

What is in my future? Not much other than Firefly still coming around. This psychic doesn't say what you want to hear. She just tells you what she sees. I was left feeling sad. It was like someone looking at my life and telling me the truth--the truth about myself and my relationships with others. It is an honesty that can be hard to face. Seeing the reality of the near future, there is nothing left but to make the most of it.

Only shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and release
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, het now
When the world comes in...Don't Dream It's Over, Crowded House

The Gymnast Returns

Lying on her back, she sleeps peacefully next to me,  Her face is tucked partially into the covers. By the dim morning light I regard her.  She has a new piercing, a small barbell at the bridge of her nose.  Lying in bed we are worlds apart.

The Gymnast is back. A lack of money has brought her out of quarantine. Outside the birds have started their morning ritual of chirping.  She doesn't seem to notice.  I get up, make coffee and start my day.  I am letting her sleep while I write this. The alternative would be for me to be pawing at her soft firm ass, which I do occasionally during the night, but she likes her sleep as much as she likes to have sex.

The cat peeks in on our guest but doesn't venture passed the doorway into the bedroom.  I wonder if she will ever be comfortable with someone new joining our family.  The Gymnast will not be that person.

Last night, the Gymnast is quieter than usual.  "I have a lot on my mind," she tells me, but doesn't give any details when I press for more.  The virus has given us all more to think about.  "This was supposed to be my year to travel,"  she continues,  "Now I have got to go back to school."

"You are young.  You will still have time to travel.  For me every years seems precious."

I press my face against the warm soft skin of her chest.  "It feels so good to be next to someone," I tell her as I look up into her eyes.  Her lips curl into a smile. "Don't laugh," I scold before placing my face down onto her again.

"I get it," she replies, as we both slide out of our underwear.  "I am with my sister and grandfather all the time."

The Gymnast is a comfortable distraction   When she is here, she fills a part of that hole Billy left behind but she also reminds me how large that hole can be.  The last few days I have been thinking about Billy.  Trying to make sense of it all.  I keep thinking back to that saying,  All life is suffering.  We cannot change the past or trying to control the future.

The Gymnast rolls out of bed around 10:30.  I sit on the side of the bed and watch as she slides takes off the tee shirt she is wearing exposing her firm bare breasts.  She puts on a thin long sleeve grey shirt from the floor and replaces the tee shirt.  "So am I going to see you again, or do I need to wait till you are financially strapped?"

"I will be back.  I always come back,"  she assures me.

We head downstairs.  She takes a few sips of coffee before putting on her shoes by the door.  "Come here I tell," pulling her toward me.   "Give me a hug before you go."  I hold her close resting my chin on her shoulder and weaving my fingers into her soft blond hair.  Reluctantly, I let her go when she pulls away.

You've find yourself a friend that knows you well.
But no matter what you do
You always you tripped and fell
So steady as she goes..  Steady, as She Goes, The Reconteurs

By Request-- Sienna My Cat

Lucy at Waiting for the Miracle requested to see a picture of my cat.  Her name is Sienna (Billy named her).  Her name is similar to Billy's old dancer name.  Subconscious of course, but probably because it is easier for her to to take care of others than it is to take care of herself.  Although she is learning.

Sienna is 6 years old.  I think.  Honestly I don't really remember.

When Billy moved out she moved back to her parents.  I told her she could not take Sienna there because her parents have three dogs.  So it is me and the cat.

Where she should not be, on the ledge  of the loft watching me work.
