After visiting Joshua tree National Park yesterday we are off to the sketchiest part of our trip. We will be spending the next three days, including New Years, in Las Vegas. I would like to visit some areas but I also want to try to remain safe. Previously we managed to avoid crowds and visit national parks. Las Vegas will be different. I will let you know how it goes.

Hope you get the chance to see Boulder Dam. A long, long time ago, when I was in the Navy, I had a friend who lived there. Once when I was visiting him, he and some of his friends drank a lot of beer and drove out to the dam... and for some reason threw 2 watermelons off the top. What do you expect from a bunch of drunken kids?
ReplyDeleteWe saw the dam but we were not able to go on the tour, so it was a bit underwhelming.
DeleteYes, try to stay safe in Vegas. I assume because of Covid that all the buffets are now shut down in favour of table service only.
ReplyDeleteThe buffets were shutdown which made it hard to get food in general. Vegas was expensive.
Deletemaybe it was just the peyote talking, but i swear the one time i went to Joshua Tree i saw a naked Bono wandering the night desert...
