T Minus One Day and Counting

Tomorrow we are leaving.  I am packing the "lit flare" (Firefly) and heading out into the fireworks shop, as Rothwilder put it.  Our first stops are Nashville, Memphis, Hot Springs and Galveston.  From there this get a little murky.  Carlsbad is on the list and we are staying outside of Tucson for Christmas.  We will be in Las Vegas for New Years and visiting Zion National park along the return leg, with several other possible stops along the way.

  3. Galveston is very nice at this time of the year.. no crowds, still some seafood cafes open... the beach is great for winter walks...

    Enjoy those walks.....

  4. I think you will (hopefully) be on your trip by now, so fingers crossed! I was just reading some back posts on a designated homework break. I think as long as you two have plenty of masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes, you should be good. I have not been to Galveston, but hear it is nicer than some of the other Texas gulf cities. Certainly nothing like the pacific coast beach cities though. I'm biased, of course.

    1. We decide to skip Galveston. Not enough time. We stayed to nights in Hot Springs and headed to Carlsbad and White Sands. So far the trip has been good.
