I went to the doctor Wednesday for my consultation. I have a tear in the tendon on the front side of my shoulder, which also caused the upper anchor of my bicep to shift and the bicep muscle to come out of its groove. I have scheduled surgery for December 20th. December 19th will be the last day I work this year. This means I only have six work weeks left this year, and the week of Thanksgiving is not a whole week.
It was my first time seeing the doctor at this location. It happened to be the exact location of my father's oncologist. I don't know why doctors need to have several locations across the suburbs instead of just one. This surgeon has three. All are within twenty minutes of my office. He cannot be in three places on the same day. I guess he could, but it seems awfully inconvenient.
I had Alexis cut my hair on Wednesday night, and we went to dinner after. I uttered one word for every hundred of hers. Alexis was definitely wired on something. She told me tales from the funeral of her ex-boyfriend's mother and how his new girlfriend is short, clingy, and ugly. Honestly, Alexis has a lot of narcissistic tendencies herself.
Alexis went on about the shady doctor she was seeing. This doctor has lost his license in the past. He over-prescribes medication. Alexis walked out with five prescriptions she didn't need, including Adderal. I think the Adderal had her mouth running a mile a minute.
Adderall. is the drug of choice right now.
ReplyDeleteYes, everyone has ADD, but can spend hours in front of their phone.
DeleteShadow doctor... That's not a term I've ever heard before. Apt.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say shady, but he is shadowy too.
DeleteI'm glad you have the surgery scheduled. Hopefully the recovery time won't be too long. I hope you have someone that can be around to help you after the surgery for a little while.
ReplyDeleteI am sure people will be around, but I like being alone during recovery.
DeleteI guess you'll have to do your Christmas shopping in advance :-) good luck Bath and meanwhile take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI don't do much Xmas shopping. I only have to shop for the three boys.
DeleteMy brother had surgery on his biceps tendon (where it attaches to the shoulder) at the beginning of the year, it is a bear, so he told me. He is still doing PT, but his heavy weight lifting days are over. I don't think he's as compliant with PT exercises as he probably should be, like doing them outside of the scheduled visits so he still has pain. Are you already doing PT for it? I would try and do as much as you are able pre-op to help post-op recovery!
ReplyDeleteI have been working it as much as possible and I will work it out after. I go into our gym several times a week.
