After ready Harry's post yesterday, I went down another Chat GPT rabbit hole. I input a few passages from my book and asked Chat GPT to rewrite them. All I can say is that I wish it had been around three years ago when I started writing the book.
Then I asked it to turn the passages into a script for a television show. It did a pretty good job of it. If I was a television or movie writer (like those currently on strike), I would be concerned. Unfortunately, I don't have the time at work right now to display the results. I am still working on the inputs and the right scene, but I can see how this would be a valuable tool for someone. I will need to work with this more later.
It really does eliminate the creative spark that makes some of us human, and I don't doubt that at some time it will take over a portion of the entertainment industry.
ReplyDeleteI like that I can dump a bunch of raw notes into it then ask it to write them up as a clear narrative. It makes great first drafts and I can spend more of my time editing and polishing.
DeleteI agree Hollywood can dump a novel into it and say create a movie based on this book.
DeleteIn other words, you're polishing and editing the creative work ChatGP has done rather than take the raw notes and be creative yourself. Have you ever rejected anything thing, or do you just polish everything it spits out?
DeleteHow interesting. That way it could be a nice tool for writers. Sadly, those with the money will probably try to do an end run around the writers, which is what all the hullabaloo is about.
ReplyDeleteI think it is possible to eliminate some of the writers with this.
DeleteHope you keep on writing and making progress with your words. AI is the reason the writers are on strike right now and the studios seem to think they might be OK without them.
ReplyDeleteWell, for now we still need writers, but in the future I can see us needing less writers.
DeleteSounds like it is good for some things.
ReplyDeleteI think so.
