I took some vacation days and had off the first week of July, nine days in total, and though I did not do much that was productive, I enjoyed the time away from work. My biggest accomplishment thus far this summer has been getting this plant to bloom. I think it is a Star Gazier Lilly. Last year it was blooming when I bought the plant, but could not get it to bloom again. Removing it from the pot and planting it in the ground seems to have helped.
Tonight is our annual condo homeowners association meeting. The board has been mismanaging our association for years. Because of this two builds are in desperate need of roofs and we do not have the funds. I think I will need to nominate myself for the board to help get things in line.

Isn't the point of vacation to rest and do nothing productive? I think resting is helpful. We need to be less task oriented for things like time off.
ReplyDeleteHOAs suck... Ours is mismanaged as well. (A previous president/treasurer embezzled funds, and they have yet to be held accountable, and this was years ago.) Just know that if you do get elected, it'll be a pain in the ass and you won't be able to do half of what you think you can. Fair warning.
Yes I know, I have been on boards before. You have to have a thick skin. My only other option is to move though.
DeleteVacations are a time to recharge. Sometimes doing nothing is the best thing! My HOA stinks too.
ReplyDeleteHOA are a thankless job at best. A nuisance mostly.
DeleteYou're right, it's a lily (that's about all I know). Nominate yourself! And if you get the job, shake the shit out of those fools!
ReplyDeleteWe I did and I feel like I will be sorry for it.
DeleteThe plant looks happy. Nicely done and good luck with the election.
